The Greater East Hampton Chamber of Commerce

The Greater East Hampton Chamber of Commerce is a private, membership-based non-profit organization that aims to attract and promote economic development in the Town of East Hampton. The chamber is dedicated to helping create a vibrant business environment that supports the year-round community. In addition to the Village of East Hampton, the chamber serves the hamlets of Wainscott, Springs and Amagansett and is supported by more than 100 members. The organization is led by a volunteer board of directors.

Barbara Layton

Barbara Layton has 30+ years of experience in the restaurant industry, making Babette’s an East Hampton staple and also making Babette’s a hotspot for politicians such as Former President Bill Clinton and Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and local congregation candidates for East Hampton Town Supervisors and East Hampton Town Board Members. She also has 25+ years of political experience and 20+ years as a Democratic Committee Member as she sat on the finance committee for Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Former Vice President Al Gore, as well as served as Strategy Advisor for General Wesley Clark’s Presidential campaign.She currently sits on the Board of Directors of East Hampton Village Foundation, East Hampton Village Business Council, and East Hampton Chamber of Commerce. Barbara is also the Executive Director of Evolutionary Leaders / Source of Synergy Foundation.

Carl Irace

Carl is an East Hampton-based attorney who also serves as a parttime judge in one of our local courts. He is a parttime public defender, taking assigned state cases in Suffolk County and federal cases in the Eastern District of New York and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. He also handles some real estate and zoning/land use matters, and is a proctor-in-admiralty. He lives in town with his wife and his two boys.

Robert Mangels

Rob is lifelong resident of Long Island and has worked on the East End of Long Island in the financial industry for the past 15 years. Committed to making financial lives better by connecting clients and communities to the resources they need to be successful. Currently the branch manager at Dime Bank in East Hampton.

Amy Kirwin

Originally from California, Amy has lived on the East End since 2010 after living and working in New York City for 15 years on and off Broadway, most recently as the Manager of Partnership Marketing for the Broadway League and the Tony Awards. Since moving east, she has worked at the Parrish Art Museum, served as the inaugural Artistic Director at Southampton Arts Center, and has now found her home at Guild Hall as the Chief Creative Officer.

In addition to her busy work schedule, Amy and her friend Rebecca Edana star in “Two Jews Making Food,” an LTV-produced cooking show that can be found locally on Optimum Channel 20, BronxNet TV, YouTube, and on ChaiFlicks streaming service, or at twojewsmakingfood.com.

Amy lives in Hampton Bays with her husband Peter and rescue pups Mel and Kaya.

Antonella Bertolla

Antonella Bertello is the proprietor of The Baker House 1650, the preeminent Boutique hotel/B&B in East Hampton, N.Y., and a real estate entrepreneur. She is also a licensed real estate agent with the Corcoran Group and an Executive Director of Marina Coast Peru, a new inland marina and residential project in the North of Peru. A natural philanthropist, Antonella regularly sponsors and hosts fundraising events at The Baker House 1650, supporting the community, Peru, cancer research as well as animal care and rights.

Dan Schock

I have been an East Hampton resident for over 13 Summers with my wife Lisa and our golden lab, Luna. I’ve been in the publishing business on the East End at Dan’s Papers, The Independent and in my current role at Times Review Media Group for Southforker (and Northforker) Magazine. I joined the GEHCOC Board to help residents and businesses navigate the challenges of living in seasonal resort towns. We can be both a fantastic place to vacation in the Summer AND a great place to live year round.

Gavin Menu

Gavin Menu is the co-publisher of The Express News Group, running the company alongside his wife, Kathryn G. Menu. Together they publish The East Hampton Press, The Southampton Press Eastern and Western Editions, The Sag Harbor Express, The Express Magazine and the website 27east.com, which combine to cover the entire South Fork of Long Island. Gavin is a former president of the Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce and was first a member of the East Hampton Chamber board in 2008. He is a graduate of East Hampton High School and lives in Springs with his wife and two children, Ella and Charlie.

Lori Chemla

Lori Chemla has been a partner at Carissa's Bakery since 2017, bringing her background in art and philanthropy into this unexpected venture. Her journey with Carissa's began at the Amagansett Farmers Market, where she fell in love with Carissa’s bread, leading to a serendipitous opportunity to help grow the business. Lori is a proud mother of three female entrepreneurs and continues to support nonprofits that combat poverty, encourage education, and the arts. Known as "Lo Lo" to her five grandchildren, Lori is deeply rooted in the East End community, championing local farmers, artisans, small businesses and affordable housing opportunities for our community's service industry workers.

Mark Smith

Mark Smith is a native of the New York metropolitan area who grew up working in his family’s hosiery business fr several years before the company was ultimately sold to the Sara Lee Corporation. In 1994, Smith decided he wanted to own a restaurant on the Eastern End of Long Island. He enrolled in Peter Kump’s Cooking School and became general manager of Jerry’s Uptown, a new venture by Jerry Joseph of Jerry’s in Soho, NYC. Soon after in 1995, he joined Jeff Salaway and Toni Ross as part of their management team at Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton. Subsequently they partnered to open Rowdy Hall, a pub/bistro venture in East Hampton, La Fondita, a Mexican taqueria, Townline BBQ, an authentic BBQ joint and Coche Comedor, a regional Mexican cuisine restuarant. Smith is an operating partner all of Honest Man Company food operations: Nick & Toni’s, Rowdy Hall, La Fondita, Townline BBQ and Coche Comedor.

Nicole Castillo

Nicole Castillo is the president of WordHampton Public Relations. An expert in both media and client relations, she continues to garner positive publicity for major events, food and beverage products, and lifestyle and hospitality services. Castillo has a roster of several award winning campaigns which includes two Public Relations Society of America's New York Chapter Big Apple Awards. In 2013, Castillo was honored as one of the future leaders of Long Island at the Long Island Business News 40 Under 40 Awards. A lifelong East End resident, she has worked with several local charities on various fundraising events. She sits on the board of Citizens for Access Rights, a local non-for-profit group created to protect public beach access on the East End and also sits on the board of the Hampton Lifeguard Association, a community organization with the mission of waterproofing Long Island's South Fork through education, training and support of water safety programs.

Steve Long

Stephen Long is the Executive Director of the East Hampton Historical Society on Eastern Long Island where he oversees five historic sites including the Dominy Shops Museum and the Thomas and Mary Nimmo Moran Home & Studio. Previously, he served as President of the Children’s Museum of the East End from 2008 to 2021. Under his direction, the Children’s Museum doubled its attendance, developed partnerships with an array of social service organizations in the community, and diversified its income streams. Prior to joining the Children’s Museum, Mr. Long spent fourteen years working at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, most recently as the Vice President of Collections and Education. Mr. Long has consulted for dozens of museums around the country, written articles about museums and community engagement, and served as an adjunct professor at New York University and the City College of New York. Before becoming a museum professional, Mr. Long was an award-winning radio producer. He has a Master of Arts in History from New York University and received his Bachelor of Arts from Middlebury College.

Zach Minskoff

Zach, a 2022 graduate of Ithaca College, has spent most of his life in East Hampton, where he has always been actively involved in community service. After a brief time in California, he returned to his hometown and founded Minskoff Studios, a video and photo production company. Zach is committed to continuing his efforts to support and uplift the community he grew up in.

Susanne Kelly

Susanne worked in advertising for over 20 years with the majority of her time spent in New York City, shorter stints in Boston and Los Angeles.

As a sales rep and executive producer she helped develop production companies, championing their growth and leading their talent.

She was a member of the television academy in California until returning home to her roots on the East Coast and home in East Hampton.

Since arriving full time almost 4 years ago she has made herself an integral part of our community - first by volunteering with the Hamptons International Film Festival. She is now the Director of Guest and Hospitality Relations with Hamptons Whodunit and works as Guest Services Director for HIFF. She’s helped Sag Harbor Cinema in fundraising efforts and the Neo-Political Cowgirls on event committees. She volunteers with Meals on Wheels and Springs Food Pantry.

Susanne attended Elon in North Carolina as well as SMFA for a post grad undergrad art year and completed course work at SVA, NYU, Cooper Union and RISD.

Carolyn Brody

Carolyn Brody is a civic leader, lifelong advocate for the arts and the environment, and Chairman Emeritus of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. She is past chair of the National Building Museum and was appointed by President Clinton to the Commission on Fine Arts. She has been a real estate consultant to the World Bank, a real estate investment banker at First Boston Corporation, and an economic development consultant to a large New England bank, among other professional roles.

In 2016, Brody, a longtime East Hampton resident, purchased the popular independent bookstore BookHampton, located on Main Street. “I am thrilled to continue the wonderful legacy of this important bookstore and will be an active, hands-on owner. Independent bookstores are enjoying a resurgence and I want to contribute to that,” Brody said at the time.

Ann M. Palmer

Ann Palmer is a seasoned hospitality professional with extensive experience in luxury hotel management and business development. Currently serving as Director of Hotel Relations at The Roundtree Amagansett, Ann has been instrumental in increasing brand recognition, building strategic partnerships, and developing signature guest experiences. Her expertise spans across several renowned properties, including The Maidstone Hotel in East Hampton, where she served as Consulting General Manager, focusing on community engagement and revenue generation.

In addition to her operational expertise, Ann has worked with prestigious hotel clients and luxury brands, driving business development through partnerships and activations. She has held leadership roles at premier establishments like The Dewberry Charleston and Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris, where she significantly increased room night production and revenue in the U.S. market. Her successful track record in sales and membership acquisition extends to global markets, including New York, Beverly Hills, Milan, Paris, and London.

A graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Business Management, Ann is also the founder of "A Chance for Life," a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting breast cancer survivors in realizing their dream of starting a family through surrogacy. Her commitment to community and philanthropy, combined with her leadership in the hospitality industry, makes her a valuable member of the Greater East Hampton Chamber of Commerce board.

Mary Bromley

A licensed clinical Psychotherapist with over 30 years of experience, Mary provides family, individual and couples therapy treating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma. She also currently serves as a consultant to the East Hampton Village Police for confidential "wellness checks" for all Officers and Dispatchers. She was also a Co-Founder of The Retreat: a domestic violence shelter in East Hampton, established in 1987, and has served on the Ethics Committee for the Town of East Hampton and the Housing Committee with Theresa Quigley. In 1985, she was hired by East Hampton Town Police to treat victims of child abuse and domestic violence and rape. Previously, Mary served as the Psychotherapist for the Ross School and worked at St. Vincent's Hospital in the Special Victims Unit and in the adolescent and pediatric clinics.

Eileen Mullen

Eileen is a licensed real estate salesperson with Sotheby’s International Realty, where she works with clients throughout the East End, including buyers and sellers from the tri-state region, across the country, and internationally. She collaborates closely with local attorneys, inspectors, engineers, architects, and builders, as well as with Hamptons businesses and community organizations. These connections have allowed her to build enduring relationships and to gain a broad perspective on the needs of our diverse community. Eileen currently serves as Vice President of the Lion Head Beach Association Board and remains actively involved with several local organizations, including the East Hampton Historical Society, the Ladies Village Improvement Society, LongHouse Reserve, Guild Hall, and LongHouse. Prior to moving to East Hampton, she lived in Ridgewood, New Jersey, where she served on the Friends of the Ridgewood Library and the Valley Hospital Auxiliary.

John is a full-time East Hampton resident, attorney, and local business owner. He owns The Clam Bar and Sett Coffee in Amagansett and brings 13 years of experience practicing real estate law, with a strong understanding of land use, regulatory matters, and the challenges facing local businesses. John is actively involved in the community through charitable and volunteer efforts and is committed to supporting responsible growth and the long-term vitality of East Hampton's business community.
